See What Modernizing Flight Service Is All About at Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-in and Expo, April 1-6, 2014
Flight Service has changed dramatically in the last two years. Lockheed Martin will be demonstrating new safety services and easier-to-understand preflight information available directly from Flight Service or via free web services.
Lockheed Martin is the FAA’s authorized “1-800-WX-BRIEF” Flight Service provider for the continental U.S., Hawaii, and the Caribbean.
Our representatives will be available to explain the advantages of new web services 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily throughout Sun ‘n Fun at the Lockheed Martin booth in the FAA Safety (FAAST) National Resource Center. In addition, they also can assist pilots’ registering on the Pilot Web Portal (www.1800wxbrief.com ), setting up pilot profiles or communication devices, and taking advantage of both the new and the unique safety benefits and efficiencies.
Lockheed Martin also will present pilot safety workshops multiple times throughout the week-long event.
"Better Briefings, Safer Flights" is scheduled at the AOPA Activities Tent, located near the FAAST National Resource Center, Wednesday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday, April 6 at 12:00 p.m. Attendees will learn about the features and benefits of Next Generation Briefings (NGB) available at www.1800wxbrief.com. NGB is a dramatic step forward in online briefings and pilot safety.
“Flight Services on Steroids” will be hosted in two venues: The FAA Safety Team (FAAST) National Resource Center and at Sun ‘n Fun, Inc. at the Central Florida Aerospace Academy . These workshops will provide insight to pilots and operators of the new, free web capabilities provided by Lockheed Martin as well as the safety and efficiency benefits they provide. Attendees also will learn about additional capabilities planned for deployment over the next two years.
